The Sections of Langley Park

Members at Langley Park enjoy a full programme of golf throughout the year. There are fixtures against other clubs, together with much competition to be enjoyed alongside fellow members, some for silverware and some of a more social nature.

Regular roll up contents are always well supported and keenly fought, ensuring that all our members have the competitive golf they demand.

Alongside the regular section events, there are numerous inter-club competitions with annual fixtures of ladies v gents, ladies v artisans, club v artisans and club v juniors, to mention just a few.

There are regular monthly mixed midweek stablefords and plenty of mixed competitions throughout the year.

Men's Section

This is a very busy and vibrant section that organises qualifying and knockout competitions as well as friendly matches, that run throughout the year.

The LPGC Men's section enter teams into local leagues including the South East Association matches, competing in various knockout competitions which are in handicap order ranging from scratch to 18+.

While there is a keen focus on competitive golf, with this being a likely contributory factor as to why we have competed so well in the County's team competitions, balance is always a good thing. We provide regular social golf where the only thing on offer is renewing friendships and perhaps a drink in the bar afterwards.

Langley Park Artisan Golf Club

Many Artisan Golf clubs were formed across the UK in the early to middle 1900’s with the intention of allowing the whole community access to play golf. The concept is that in return for reduced membership fees & playing time restrictions the Artisans carry out work on the course ….usually filling in the divots on Fairways & Tees & raking bunkers, thus helping the Green Staff to maintain the course to the best possible standard. There are currently around 70 Artisan Golf Clubs in the UK mainly based at the more prestigious clubs.

Langley Park Artisan Golf Club was formed in 1945 with 9 members. The Artisan clubroom was originally a Builders Hut which by the 60th Anniversary in 2005 was clearly showing its age. In 2009 the “Hut” as it was affectionately known was replaced by the building we have today which has been recently named “The Taylor Cabin” in honour of JH Taylor who, as well as designing the Langley Park course was also a founding member of the Artisan Movement.

Today LPAGC is a club within a club, having EGU status of its own separate from the main club. With a membership limit of 40, they have their own internal competitions & enjoy matches against other Artisan clubs across Kent, Surrey & Sussex. In recent years LPAGC have twice won the prestigious Surrey Artisans Golf Union 7’s competition.
